Electrical Energy Saving
Reducing electricity usage can be linked closely to most over energy saving ideas. Using energy effient lighting, insulating your loft and using an energy efficent heating system all help reduce electricy usage.
The best advise that can be give in order to reduce your electricity usage is to turn off what you are not using. By off we mean right off, some appliances use up to 85 percent of working energy simply waiting in standby mode.
Here are a number of tips on reducing your electricity usage
Don’t leave you fridge or freezer door open longer than necessary. Ensue you defrost freezers regularly.

Use Energy saving light bulbs. Eash bulb last around 12 times longer than normal bulbs and use 75% less electricity. Aslo When you leave a room turn the lights off!
‘A+’ rated electrical appliances. Your old fridge freezer may use two and a half times more electricity to power than a modern ‘A’ rated one.
Only boil your kettle with as much water as you need. Your kettle uses a lot of Energy so remember to only boil as much as water as you. Make sure the element in your kettle is clean and free of lime scale, this reduces the efficency of your kettle a great deal.
Whenever and wherever possible don't tumble dry your clothes. Hang your clothes out to dry. Not only will this save electriciy but your clothes will smell clean and fresh.
Turn your hot water temperature down. Setting the thermostat at 60°C/140°F is fine for bathing.
When washing clothes make sure to use the half-load or economy programme. Remember to use the half-load programme if you washing machine or dishwasher is not full

Clean at lower water temperatures. Most dishwashers and washing machines heat their own water. reducing the washing temperature will reduce their energy usage a great deal. All modern washing detergents are designed to wash and clean at 40°C and some even at 30°C.
